The PL series is our latest linear product line. The planar product series from LAB Motion Systems features two axes, both floating on the same granite base. Therefore, the top axis air bearings do not float above the lower axis like in a stacked configuration, but are positioned directly above the granite base. The two axes can move independently of each other, and there is no mechanical coupling between them. The main benefits are doubled stiffness and improved accuracy. The XY motion platform moves at high speed, floating just a few micrometers above the precision granite base. It provides dynamic, smooth, and repeatable motion, regardless of load.
